Low Thyroid

As women, we deal with having periods, childbirth, perimenopause and several other life events that can have a major effect on our hormones. Then, as we get older, we face menopause… or is it just menopause?

Even with the increase in thyroid disease diagnosis, many women are still not being diagnosed with low thyroid function due to the fact that menopause and low thyroid have many of the same symptoms. The majority of health care providers rely on the standard TSH test as the only marker to determine thyroid function, which is leaving many to suffer needlessly from thyroid problems that are mistaken for menopause symptoms.
