Today, Louise O’Connor is going to explain the importance of the thyroid hormone T3.

T3 not only helps with weight loss, many find it also helps to relieve some of the hypothyroidism symptoms.

I personally changed my prescription from a T4 only hormone to a T3-T4 combination and my symptoms have improved significantly. I am no longer freezing cold, I sleep better and have finally started to lose some weight. The addition of T3 to my RX  has made a huge improvement in my life.

T3 & Weight Loss

Today we take a closer look at triiodothyronine (T3) which is the most
potent thyroid hormone. T3 is often discussed in regards to weight loss, and
for good reason. T3 naturally boosts your metabolism. If you are finding it
hard to lose weight it is a good idea to discuss testing your free T3 (FT3)
with your healthcare practitioner. This thyroid hormone not only helps with
weight loss, adequate T3 activity can also reduce many of the other symptoms
of an underactive thyroid. Low T3 can have far-reaching effects in the body.
For example, reduced T3 activity is often associated with a slow heart rate,
lower than normal body temperature and fatigue. The standard reference range
for free T3 is 4.0-8.0 pmol/L. This provides a very good clue that you
ideally want to see your free T3 result above 4.0 pmol/L.
